ABOUT

Celeste Caramanna, London-based singer-songwriter, always knew she wanted to be a singer, and at the age of three her father, sensing her passion, bought her a portable cassette player which she always carries with her. At twelve she began to formally study singing and piano and appeared on the Italian TV programme, which gave her a platform to perform with many established Italian artists. She discovered that singing was pure joy and that it was the ultimate way to express herself musically, and for the next few years worked on her vocals while collaborating with songwriters and musicians to write her debut album, +18, which was released in June 2017.

In 2018 she began to perform in London with a mix of her own songs and reinterpretations of classics from samba to bossa nova, exploring the rhythms and sounds of Brazilian music as well as funk, soul and pop. Celeste has performed all over the world and in legendary venues including the Barbican (London), Union Chapel (London), Casino de Paris (Paris), and Paradiso (Amsterdam), opening for major artists such as Milton Nascimento, Martinho Da Vila, Adriana Calcanhotto, and performing with amazing icons as Roberto Menescal.

In 2019 Celeste began a three EP project, a triptych called ‘Antropofagico’, a single path with three different moods.

Although only just in her 20s, Celeste has already performed across the world from Brazil to Italy, as well as Argentina, Belgium, France, Ireland, Holland, Austria, Spain, Germany, Hungary, Portugal and Gt. Britain. In 2024 she started a collaboration with Pablo Lapidusas, Argentinian and Brazilian pianist, creating a new project called “Looking for Johnny Alf”. Two became four, because the amazing Jaques Morelenbaum and the amazing Nelson Faria became essential partners of this project, that gained a huge following during the Brazilian and Argentinian tour from April to July of 2024.

She is working on the launch of a new album, recorded in New York, inspired by this project.

She’s passionate about rhythms, richness, variety and sophistication of Brazilian Music and International music… she defines herself lover of different cultures, beyond all the genres and styles, always aiming for liberty, contamination and fusion.
